Jerell Cephas is an accomplished martial artist and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, known for his dedication, skill, and relentless pursuit of excellence. His journey in the world of BJJ began in 2010 when he embarked on his martial arts training in Columbus, Ohio.
Driven by a deep passion for the art, Jerell decided to expand his knowledge and skills by seeking guidance from renowned practitioners and mentors. In 2012, he had the privilege of training under the guidance of Acee Comegy, a highly respected instructor in the BJJ community. Under Comegy’s tutelage, Jerell demonstrated exceptional talent and commitment, earning his blue belt.
Seeking further growth and exposure to different training methodologies, Jerell made his way to Las Vegas, Nevada. There, he had the opportunity to train under the late Robert Follis, a legendary figure in the world of mixed martial arts (MMA) and a highly esteemed BJJ practitioner. Under Follis’ guidance, Jerell’s skills flourished, and in 2014, he was awarded his purple belt, a significant milestone in his BJJ journey.
With a solid foundation and a burning desire to progress, Jerell decided to focus his efforts on pursuing his black belt. He sought the expertise of Hector Vasques, a revered Cobrinha Black belt, who became his mentor and guide. Under Vasques’ watchful eye and meticulous instruction, Jerell’s skills continued to evolve. It was in March of 2021 that Jerell Cephas achieved the pinnacle of his BJJ journey, receiving his brown belt and ultimately his black belt.
Jerell Cephas’ relentless dedication, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to honing his craft have shaped him into a respected martial artist and black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring practitioners, highlighting the importance of continuous learning, resilience, and a passion for the art. Jerell’s love for BJJ fuels his desire to share his knowledge and empower others on their own martial arts journeys.
